One of the Many Poems About Him- Rose McKnight

The circular thoughts that exist in my brain of you,
When I love somebody,
I want to keep them away from the badness of the world,
I want to feel like I’m just a few feet underwater all the time,
Where the surface is blurry but beautiful and it reflects off of everything and I feel submerged
into what I’m feeling and I’m out of my head finally,
I just want to hold you close to my chest forever and never have you feel the pains of the world
again,
The groaning of getting older and pruning parts that no longer belong to you is horrid,
And it feels like dying over and over again,
But I wanna die with you,
(I feel like I could if you wanted me to),
And I’ve never wanted to love someone as I want to love you,
(at least it feels that way right now),
And I just feel this absence when you’re not around,
And this closeness when you are,
What I’m trying to say is that I’m waiting to get high,
And as I was walking home,
the sun was going down and the sky was getting dark,
The silhouettes of the trees looked like they were waving at me and I felt very much at peace
with what I should be doing in my life,
There are no coincidences and the world is full of them,
And I’m lucky to just be alive to witness the good and fated things and the bad ones too,
(But those we’d like to say happen by pure chance),
But I thought of you and there was this pulling feeling in my chest,
this stirring,
I just felt like I could cry for all of the longing,
I’ve always been one who longs, and I always will,
For you my darling,
I’ll always wait around.
